Yahtzee Online Multiplayer
The objective of Yahtzee is to get as many points as possible by rolling five dice and getting certain dice combinations.
The game consists of 13 rounds. The round starts by rolling all the dice. After this either score the current roll, or re-roll any or all of the five dice. The dice can be rolled a total of three times — the initial roll, plus two re-rolls of any or all dice. After rolling three times, the roll must be scored. Any roll can be scored in any category at any time, even if the resulting score is zero.
The game continues until all 13 score categories have been filled.
All upper section categories score a sum of the specified die face. If the total score of all upper section categories is 63 or more, an extra bonus of 35 is added.
3 of a kind: Get three dice with the same number. Scores the sum of all dice.
4 of a kind: Get four dice with the same number. Scores the sum of all dice.
Full House: Get three of a kind and a pair. Scores 25 points.
Small Straight: Get four sequential dice. Scores 30 points.
Large Straight: Get five sequential dice. Scores 40 points.
Chance: You can put anything into chance. Scores the sum of the dice.
YAHTZEE: Five of a kind. Scores 50 points. Each additional Yahtzee scores 100 extra points.

Welcome to RS Games Yahtzee, an accessible, online, multiplayer version of the classic dice game Yahtzee! RS Games Yahtzee utilizes the RS Games client, which allows players to play against each other from around the world, via the centralized RS Games server.
To get started, you will need the RS Games client installed. TO get the RS Games client if you don't have it already, go to http://www.rsgames.co.nr. connecting and logging into the server are covered in the RS Games client documentation. Alternatively, you can use the web client, from which you can play by using your web browser. Web Client Link. This document assumes you have read the RS Games client documentation first, for general concepts and instructions on using the client. If you have not read this document, please read it before continuing.
If you are using the web client, options referred to as keyboard commands in this document will appear as buttons on the web page.
Once you are connected, choose Yahtzee from the list of games, and you will be presented with the main menu. From there, you can create a new game, join a game, or see a list of existing games. Choose an option using the up and down arrow keys and the enter key, or by clicking on the option if you are using the web client.
If you choose to create a new game, you will be asked if you want to make the game private. If you choose yes, you can set a password, and only those who know the password will be able to join. After you have made your choice, you will be placed in your game. Here, players will be able to join your game.
Bots are computer players who will play against you if there are no other humans around to play with, or if you want to add more players to your game. If you are the creator of the game, you can press B to add a bot, or R to remove a bot.
Once you are ready to start the game, press the Enter key.
To join a game, choose the Join Game option from the main menu. You will be presented with a list of games that are open for players, along with the people playing in each game. Choose a game from the list, and press enter. If the game is private, you will then be asked to enter the password. Once you are in the game, you must wait for the game master to start the game.
The object of the game is to score the most points by rolling five dice to make certain combinations. The dice can be rolled up to three times in a turn to try to make one of the thirteen possible scoring combinations. A game consists of thirteen rounds during which the player chooses which scoring combination is to be used in that round. Once a combination has been used in the game, it cannot be used again.
When it is your turn, you will be presented with three options: -Roll Dice: Allows you to roll the dice. A checklist will come up (in which you must use the spacebar to select options) where you need to select the dice you would like to re-roll. (For example, if you had a 2, 2, 2, 2 and 3, you would probably want to re-roll the 3, in hopes for a Yahtzee (five like dice). If you do not select any dice to re-roll, you will be brought to the scoring menu. Likewise, if it is your third roll, you will also be brought to the scoring menu. -Score Current Dice: If you are happy with the dice you have rolled, you may score the dice before it is your turn. (//See the Scoring Menu later in this document) -View Score Card: This option presents a list of users currently in your game. When you select a user, it will display the category and associated score for each category. It will also display the total score for the user. -Leave Game: If you would like to leave the game when it is your turn, select this option.
The scoring combinations have varying point values, some of which are set values and others of which have the cumulative value of the dice. A Yahtzee Scorecard contains two distinct sections: the upper and lower section. In the upper section, each box is scored by summing the total number of dice faces matching that box. The lower section contains a number of poker-themed combinations with specific point values. There are seven categories in the lower section:
- 3 Of A Kind (3 Dice Showing The Same Face. Score: Sum of all dice)
- 4 Of A Kind (4 Dice Showing The Same Face. Score: Sum of all dice)
- Full House (A 3 Of A Kind, and 2 Of a Kind. Score: 25)
- Small Straight (//Four Dice in Sequence. Score: 30)
- Large Straight (//Five Dice in Sequence. Score: 40),
- Yahtzee (Five Of A Kind, Score: 50)
- Chance(Any combination the player rolls, Score: Sum of all dice)
When you do not select any dice to re-roll, when you have rolled 3 times already, or when you select to Score Current Dice when it is your turn, you will be presented with a menu. This menu shows all of the categories in which you have not scored in, along with the score value. For example, if you chose to score in Four Of A Kind in a previous turn, it will not show up as an option. In every turn you get in Yahtzee, you must insert your score into some category. Depending on your strategy, you may have to enter a score of 0 into some category. Once you insert a score into a category, it cannot be undone.
After 13 rounds, the person with the most points wins the game.
There are several keyboard commands that can be used to get information about your current game:
- Q: Leave the game.
- F1: To get help from admins (works similar to chat.)
- F2: Send a chat message to players in the game. If you are in the main menu, this will send a chat message to all players waiting for a game.
- F3: Lower the volume of the background music.
- F4: Raise the volume of the background music.
- F5: Lower the volume of all sounds.
- F6: Raise the volume of all sounds.
- W: Who's online.
- TAB: Get game information such as who's in the current game, who is the game master, and who is the bot.
Yahtzee Online Multiplayer
You can chat with other players at any point during game play by pressing the F2 key, typing your message into the input box and pressing enter. You can also chat at the main menu to other players who are not currently in a game, also by pressing F2.
To change the volume of the background music during the game, use F3 to lower the volume and F4 to raise the volume. You can also adjust the volume of the sound effects with F5 and F6 to lower or raise the volume, respectively.
You can opt to receive a transcript of your game, that is, an email containing the entire text of your game. When you leave a game, you will be asked if you would like to receive a transcript. If you would, choose Yes, and the transcript will be sent to the email address you used when creating your RS Games account.
